Elle représente les Mirage 2000C de l’Escadron de Chasse 1/5 Vendée, engagés aux côtés de F-15 américains lors de la Première Guerre du Golfe, dans le cadre des missions de supériorité aérienne.
Au premier plan, un pilote de chasse apparaît, silhouette ancrée dans l’intensité opérationnelle : visière sombre, masque d’oxygène, tension palpable.
Derrière lui, un Mirage 2000C marqué 5-NE se dégage dans un virage serré, tandis que plusieurs appareils français et américains patrouillent en altitude, symbolisant la coopération et la coordination interalliées.
Au loin, en écho discret mais assumé, deux SEPECAT Jaguar effectuent une passe de bombardement — un clin d’œil volontaire aux autres unités engagées dans le conflit, et un hommage à l’ensemble des aviateurs déployés durant Desert Storm.

Created in 2024, this mixed-media artwork served as the foundational study for the monumental mural painted by the artist on Air Base 115 Orange.
It depicts the Mirage 2000C aircraft of Fighter Squadron 1/5 Vendée patrolling alongside U.S. Air Force F-15s during the First Gulf War, as part of air superiority missions conducted in the Desert Storm campaign.
